A Much-Loved Part of Club Life
Alfold Stoolball Club is a long-standing and sociable part of the Alfold Sports community, based at the Recreation Ground on Dunsfold Road. The club currently fields Alfold Ladies and competes in the Surrey Ladies Stoolball Association, offering local players the chance to enjoy one of Sussex and Surrey’s most traditional summer team sports.
About Alfold Stoolball Club
Stoolball has long been part of village sport in the South East, and Alfold Stoolball Club continues that tradition as an active and welcoming section of the Alfold Sports community. The club’s current adult side, Alfold Ladies, competes in the Surrey Ladies Stoolball Association and also takes part in the Knockout Cup.
The club offers a friendly, community-focused environment for players who want to:

Alfold Ladies represent the club in organised local competition, competing in both the Surrey Ladies Stoolball Association league and the Knockout Cup. This gives the club a clear competitive pathway through league fixtures and cup competition, while still maintaining the strong social and community feel that village stoolball is known for.
Official records show Alfold appearing across numerous previous seasons, reflecting a well-established presence in local stoolball and a proud history of competition stretching back many years.
A Traditional Summer Sport
Stoolball is one of the South East’s most distinctive traditional team sports, and Alfold is proud to continue that heritage through its local club section. Played during the summer season, stoolball combines teamwork, hand-eye coordination and friendly competition in a format enjoyed across Surrey and Sussex for generations.
At Alfold, the sport remains an important part of the wider village sports scene, with Alfold Ladies representing the club in organised competition year after year.
