Alfold Football Club is a proud and long-standing part of the Alfold Sports community, offering competitive football in a welcoming village-club environment. Founded in 1920, the club combines a rich local history with a modern setup that includes senior football, youth development and a strong connection to the wider community.
About Alfold Football Club
Alfold Football Club has been at the heart of local sport for over a century and remains one of the best-known sporting sections within the Alfold community. Founded in 1920, the club has grown from its local village football roots into an established community club with a proud competitive history.
Based at the Recreation Ground on Dunsfold Road, the club plays its home fixtures in the centre of village sporting life and forms a major part of the wider Alfold Sports and Social setting. The ground features a 50-seat stand and floodlights, helping support a more developed matchday and training environment.
Known locally as “The Fold”, the club offers:
- Senior team football in the Southern Combination Football League
- Youth development through U23, U18 and U17 squads
- A clear pathway for player progression
- Community participation and local pride
- A welcoming village-club atmosphere

League & Competition
Alfold FC competes within the Southern Combination Football League system and has established itself over recent years as a club capable of progressing through the football pyramid while maintaining its village-club identity.
Historically, the club has competed across a number of regional leagues, including the Rudgwick & District League, Cranleigh & District League, Horsham & District League, West Sussex League, and more recently the Southern Combination structure — giving the club a long and varied competitive history stretching back across generations of local football.
In more recent years, Alfold enjoyed a strong rise through the divisions, winning the Southern Combination Division One title in 2018–19, following promotion from Division Two the season before. The club has also recorded recent cup and youth honours, reflecting both competitive ambition and a healthy football development structure.
